How Many Carbohydrates Are In The Most Popular Fruits?

It really matters which one you choose especially if you're on a diet!

Fruits are specifically healthy bases for your diet, but it doesn’t hurt to be aware of how many calories are lurking in them.

The sweet taste of the fruits is given by the fructose in them, which is a natural source of sugar, but it boosts blood sugar levels and is a fast-absorbing carbohydrate, even if there is fiber in it, which slows down the process somewhat.

Lose Your Weight But Not Your Health!

Whichever diet your choose always make sure your daily vitamin need is covered.

Making sure you get the proper vitamins and nutrients in your food can be a challenge. The food you eat is the best way to get your nutrients, yet it is not always practical in today's society. People don't always eat a balanced meal if they are on the go. Even if we are mindful of what we eat, there are times when we still need to supplement our diet with additional vitamins, minerals and nutrients. I highly recommend that most people take additional supplements to help make sure they are receiving their proper nutrients and to boost their immune system.

Vitamins, Minerals and other Essential nutrients are the building blocks of our cells. Proper body, brain and organ function relies on these important elements. Even though most of us don't completely understand how these elements function, we do know that they are important to our health. Let's break this down

South Beach Diet Unmasked

Consider these statistics:

64.5 percent of adult Americans (about 127 million) are categorized as being overweight or obese.

Diabetes now affects nearly 21 million Americans

Well, the above figures have certainly scared the American health authorities. This has also spun the medical authorities into action. In fact, for quite a few years, researchers have been trying to locate the causes, which are responsible for the rising incidence of obesity and diabetes in America.

The researchers, finally, concluded that the diet-which is filled with fats, oil, processed food and refined flour etc- is the primary reason for the upsurge in the number of unhealthy Americans.

The solution? Changes in the dietary habit and switching over to the traditional wholesome meal. In fact, some from the medical fraternity have come up with their own diet charts that not only promise to fight those bulges but will also help to maintain your health. Take for instance Dr. Arthur Agatston. A Miami based cardiologist, he is credited with the invention of the South Beach diet. South Beach diet is one of the few diets that have taken the dieting community by storm.

Bone Health - It's Not All About Calcium

Seems every time we read about supporting healthy bones we talk about Calcium. "Drink milk for strong bones!" Who hasn't heard that before? Who hasn't seen a concerned look from a doctor or pediatrician when you say you or your kid isn't eating many dairy products? And who hasn't in some time in their life taken a calcium supplement in hopes of preventing bone loss and osteoporosis?

The thing is, we love our bones. They are pretty cool. They protect our organs, provide structure to our body frame, help us move, and even perform many metabolic functions such as store minerals, help balance the pH in our body, and even store fat in the yellow bone marrow, among other jobs. Yes, bones ones are pretty darn cool. Unfortunately how to protect them, beyond more and more calcium, is not widely publicized. I'm not sure why that is.
